As one of the few people who have gone through the UC to UC transfer process, I know firsthand just how difficult it can be to find the resources and information you need. Ultimately, I want to help simplify that process for people who are thinking about transferring like I did. I initially decided to transfer because of the opportunities that I knew only a school with the connections to Silicon Valley like Berkeley could provide. Ultimately, transferring to Berkeley has been one of the best decisions I've ever made - I've been fortunate enough to find communities on campus that have taken care of me both professionally and personally.
I think my biggest piece of advice for writing college essays is to make sure that all of the stories that you tell relate back to your application and tell a wider story of who you are as a human being. The individual experiences that you write in your applications should not be in a vacuum separate from everything else, but all of the pieces of your application should ultimately help the readers understand WHY you decided to get involved with certain activities and how that connects to your life story.
